Zelensky thanked the USA for powerful sanctions against the Russian financial sector.


The USA has introduced new financial sanctions against Russia to weaken its military potential and further isolate it from global markets.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to US leader Joseph Biden and his administration for the new sanctions.

According to the president, the sanctions involve Gazprombank, which is one of the largest banks in Russia, its six subsidiaries, and more than 50 other financial institutions. The President of Ukraine emphasized that these sanctions are important at a critical moment when Russia is carrying out missile attacks and violating international laws.
Zelensky also highlighted the importance of holding the aggressor accountable for the war they started.
Furthermore, the head of state noted the role of the US Congress in implementing the sanctions and emphasized the need for joint efforts to counter tyranny and strengthen global security.
