The police named seven places on the road where traffic accidents occur most often in winter.

The patrol police of the Sumy region emphasizes the importance of safe driving during the winter period and publishes recommendations for drivers. If there are doubts about your driving experience, the condition of the vehicle, or the weather conditions, it is recommended to use public transport. Police pay special attention to the technical condition of vehicles and remind drivers to check tires, headlights, wipers, battery, and braking system before each departure.
An important aspect of safe winter driving is smooth handling and maintaining a safe distance between vehicles. In addition, patrol officers urge drivers to be attentive to hazardous sections of the road, especially intersections, pedestrian crossings, public transport stops, bridges, and overpasses. Drivers are also encouraged to be particularly mindful of pedestrians, especially in the vicinity of educational institutions and pedestrian crossings. The police emphasize that adhering to these rules will help avoid traffic accidents and save the lives of road users.
Earlier, drivers were shown the main cause of mortality for 2024.
