Turkey engulfed in dozens of forest fires.


In Turkey on Friday, August 16, 47 fires occurred, spreading due to hot and windy weather. This is reported by AP.
Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumakli, stated that a total of 47 fires occurred throughout the country. Of these, 30 are already under control, while 17 are still being extinguished.
One of the fires occurred in the city of Izmir, where residents were forced to leave their homes due to the outbreak of the fire.

One of the fires also threatened memorials and graves of World War I at the site of the Battle of Gallipoli.
To combat the fires, Turkey mobilized dozens of airplanes, hundreds of vehicles, and thousands of people.
Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli warned of an increased risk of forest fires over the weekend due to low humidity, strong winds, and high temperatures.
The General Directorate of Forestry also called on people not to light open-air fires for the next 10 days due to weather conditions.
Recall that at the end of June, forest fires engulfed three provinces in Turkey - Izmir, Canakkale, and Aydın. Only in Izmir, during the first half of the day on June 29, 16 cases of forest fires were recorded. The outbreaks occurred in the areas of Karakadag, Menderes, Cesme, Menemen, Selcuk, Torbali, and others.
Additionally, in western Turkey, a serious explosion occurred in the city of Izmir. Five people died, and 63 were injured. This was reported by the governor of Izmir, Suleiman Elban. The explosion occurred on June 30 in the afternoon.
