A massive drone attack occurred in Russian airports
Seven airports in Russia have temporarily suspended operations due to a 'mass drone attack'. This was reported by the governors of the regions.
In the morning, the authorities of Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Grozny, Kaluga, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk announced restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft at local airports. In four regions, a drone attack also occurred.
'The strike on the industrial facility caused a fire,' confirmed the governor of the Volgograd region, Andrei Bocharov.
According to the Telegram channel Astra, one of the drones crashed into a residential building in Volgograd. Currently, there is no information about the injured.
Vladislav Shapsha, the governor of the Kaluga region, reported that debris from the drone fell onto the territory of an industrial zone in the Dzerzhinsky district.
Explosions also occurred in the Saratov region. The head of the region, Roman Buzargin, stated that 'the attack was repelled.'
The acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, claims that drones attacked Rostov-on-Don, Sholokhovsky, and Chertkovsky districts. In Rostov-on-Don, drone debris fell on a private house, where no one was present at the Time of the attack.
The Tula region also became a victim of explosions, local residents reported.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the air defense system intercepted 40 drones: 17 over the Volgograd region, 12 over the Kaluga region, 9 in the Rostov region, and 2 in the Saratov region. The number of drones that inflicted damage remains unknown.
