French actor Alain Delon has died.


At the age of 88, French actor Alain Delon has died. This happened at his own estate in the village of Douchy, south of Paris. This was reported by his three children in a comment to Agence France-Presse.
«Alain-Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony, and also his dog Loubo, with deep sorrow announce the death of their father. He passed away peacefully at his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and family», noted the children.
The actor began his career in 1957. Among his most famous films: «Purple Noon», «Rocco and His Brothers», «The Leopard», «The Unvanquished», «Le Samouraï», «The Sicilian Clan» and many others. Even without acting in Hollywood, he was popular not only in Europe, but also in the USA and Asia.
Delon was nominated for a «Golden Globe» in the «Best New Actor» category. He was also the winner of the César Award for Best Actor for the film «Our Story».
Since the 1990s, the actor rarely appeared on screens and in 2017 he announced that he was ending his film career. Recently, Delon rarely left his property in Douchy due to poor health after suffering two strokes.
It is worth recalling that in April 2024, Alain Delon was awarded the Order «For Merit to Ukraine». In 2022, he also participated in an interview with President Zelensky and quoted the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko during a television program.
In 2022, Alain Delon joined the solidarity project with the Ukrainian people by the team of journalists Cyril Viguier and the Ukrainian Embassy in France.
Earlier, Alain Delon appeared in the wilderness with the aim of supporting Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor. «What is happening in Ukraine deeply saddened and touched me, so I am fighting for the Ukrainians», said the famous actor on the BFMTV channel.
