Epidemiological threat in Hungary: authorities deploy troops.

Hungary is battling an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the northwest region, implementing additional disinfection measures and involving the military. This disease has been identified on a cattle farm for the first Time in the last 50 years. The likelihood of introducing trade restrictions has prompted the intensification of measures.
This virus has also spread to Slovakia, where infection outbreaks have been detected at five locations. Thus, the government of the country is strengthening control measures.
Hungary is also enhancing security measures by establishing disinfection points at border crossings and exits from highways in the northwest region to prevent the virus from spreading beyond the disease area.
As of April 2, new cases of infection have been identified on two farms. In total, over 3,500 heads of cattle have been affected by the disease.
Hungary has over 861,000 heads of cattle, which accounts for 1.2% of the total livestock in the European Union.
Outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease and the loss of EU duty-free privileges may affect milk raw material prices in Ukraine. This was stated by analyst Georgi Kukaleishvili from the Milk Producers Association.
Recently, Hungary has faced a serious threat due to the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak. To prevent the further spread of the virus, the country's authorities are taking active disinfection measures and involving the military. Hungary is also cooperating with neighboring countries to limit the spread of infection. This situation may significantly impact Ukraine's agricultural sector, particularly milk raw material prices. Agricultural producers are concerned and are striving to address this issue through joint efforts. It is worth noting that this is not the first case of foot-and-mouth disease, thus special attention should be paid to production control and proper disinfection to prevent the further spread of the virus.
