Up to 50% savings on electricity: Ukrainians revealed a simple way to pay less.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has presented a comprehensive mechanism for transitioning to a dual-zone electricity accounting system. This will allow citizens to significantly save on electricity supply, as using a dual-zone meter enables savings of up to 50% of the electricity cost during nighttime.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the dual-zone system divides the day into daytime and nighttime periods with different tariff rates. During the daytime, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, a standard tariff of 4.32 UAH per kilowatt-hour applies, while during the nighttime, from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, consumers pay only half of this amount - 2.16 UAH.
The process of transitioning to the new accounting system includes five main stages, starting from submitting an application to the electricity supplier and ending with the installation and sealing of the new meter. To register, it is necessary to provide a passport, individual tax number, and a valid contract with the electricity supplier.
Experts in the field note that for maximum effectiveness of the new accounting system, it is recommended to shift the use of energy-intensive devices to nighttime.
After the installation of the dual-zone meter is completed, consumers gain access to expanded information on electricity consumption in their personal account. The system displays separate daytime (T1) and nighttime (T2) consumption, allowing for more effective expense control.
According to estimates from the Ministry of Energy, the dual-zone electricity accounting system is becoming increasingly popular among Ukrainian consumers, demonstrating significant potential for optimizing household electricity expenses in the face of modern economic challenges.
Earlier, Ukrenergo named the 'greedy' electrical appliances that can help reduce load and energy consumption.
