Cars, Buses, and Motorcycles: Drivers Warned About Strict Restrictions.

Ban on Vehicle Passage Through Protected Areas in Ukraine
Ukraine has adopted a new law prohibiting the movement of vehicles through protected areas. Law No. 4188-IX comes into effect on February 1, 2025, and aims to strengthen the protection of protected areas and objects.
Violating these rules entails administrative responsibility. Citizens face fines ranging from 153 to 408 hryvnias, while officials face fines from 255 to 510 hryvnias.
“The ban on vehicles within protected areas is a necessary measure to preserve our nature. We must protect unique natural territories from the negative impact of transport,” said a government representative.
In addition to fines, violators will also be required to compensate for the damage caused to the protected fund. The amount of compensation depends on the type of vehicle and the distance of the illegal passage.
Different categories of vehicles, such as mopeds, motorcycles, passenger cars, vans, buses, and trucks, will incur varying compensation amounts for every 100 meters traveled.
“These sanctions and fines are essential to ensure compliance with the rules and protect our protected areas. Everyone must understand the significance of the problem and treat our nature with care,” added the government representative.
This initiative is part of comprehensive measures to preserve and protect the unique natural territories of Ukraine from the negative impact of transport on nature.
The government has also announced strict sanctions and the revocation of rights for drivers of 'loud' vehicles.
