Discounts on utility bills for Ukrainians: who is eligible and how to apply for benefits.


Who is eligible for discounts on utility services in Ukraine?
The press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine has informed citizens about who is entitled to receive discounts on utility services from 25% to 100%.
Benefits for paying utility services can be received by war children, large families, military personnel, and other specific categories of citizens. Such individuals may pay less for electricity, gas supply, water supply, and heating, and some may even be completely exempt from payment.
Benefits apply to various types of services, such as the management of apartment buildings, gas supply, electricity, thermal and water energy supply, as well as waste removal. Benefits are also provided for the purchase of solid fuel and liquefied gas.
Who can receive benefits?
- War children;
- Family members of deceased defenders;
- Large families, family-type children's homes, foster families, guardianship families;
- And other categories of citizens.
To receive benefits, you must submit documents to the Pension Fund of Ukraine through one of the convenient ways - in person, by mail, or online.
Documents required for applying for the benefit:
- Passport;
- Document confirming entitlement to the benefit;
- Taxpayer identification number.
Remember that a condition for receiving the benefit is meeting certain income conditions. Benefits are granted for 12 months but are reviewed annually.
A necessary condition is that the average monthly income per family member over the previous six months must not exceed 4,240 hryvnias.
And starting from the beginning of the new year, the right to benefits is automatically reviewed by the Pension Fund of Ukraine – in order to determine the family's income to specify the relevant discount amount.
These benefits aim to support certain categories of citizens and assist them in paying utility bills.
