Zelensky talked with the Prime Minister of Britain

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with the Prime Minister of Britain Keir Starmer. The president announced this on his Telegram channel, reports 'Glavcom'.

“I thanked for the new British sanctions that help to force Russia to peace. Only pressure will work. Today, there is a sanction decision from Britain, there is also a decision from the EU, and it would be good if the United States helped too,” wrote the president.

According to Zelensky, European partners are already preparing further steps in this “extremely important” pressure on Russia to end the war. The president discussed with Starmer the main details of diplomatic work and possible meetings.

“We discussed yesterday's conversation with President Trump. We also discussed our joint actions within the coalition of willing. We agreed to remain in constant contact - almost daily. Thank you, Britain!” summarized the president.

It should be noted that Great Britain announced the introduction of 'widespread sanctions' against the Russian Federation.

Restrictions and sanctions

The restrictions will affect hundreds of objects in Russian military, energy, financial sectors and those who wage an informational war against Ukraine.

Great Britain and its partners are also working on tightening price restrictions on oil, further limiting critical oil revenues for Putin's military machine.

By the way, the European Union has approved a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. It targets almost 200 ships of the 'shadow fleet'.

The head of EU diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, emphasized that the new restrictive measures also concern hybrid threats and human rights. 'We are preparing more sanctions against Russia. The longer Russia continues the war, the harsher our response will be,' she says.

Analysis

As a result of the conversation between Zelensky and the Prime Minister of Britain, it appears that joint efforts to force Russia to end the war are gaining momentum. The introduction of new sanctions and tightening of restrictions may contribute to achieving peace in the region and strengthening Ukraine's security.
