Zelensky appointed a new commander of the Ground Forces and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.


The President of Ukraine held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, during which important personnel decisions were made in the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the results of the meeting, Major General Mykhailo Drapaty was appointed as the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who previously distinguished himself by successfully organizing defense in the Kharkiv direction and thwarting the offensive operation of Russian troops.
In addition, Colonel Oleg Apostol, who has significant combat experience as the commander of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, has taken the position of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
During the meeting, issues of energy security were also discussed, in particular, the elimination of the consequences of Russian strikes and the protection of infrastructure facilities. The President instructed to strengthen the air defense system and conduct relevant negotiations with partners.
Particular attention was paid to the situation at the front and in the areas of the Kursk operation, as reported by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to the president, the main task of the new leadership is to increase the army's combat capability, ensure quality training for servicemen, and implement innovative approaches to managing the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
