Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant on the brink of blackout due to Russian shelling.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in the occupied territory has been shut down due to shelling from Russia. The plant currently has only one power line connecting it to the Ukrainian energy system. However, if this line is disconnected, there will be a complete blackout, which poses a threat to safety and could cause an accident. Ukraine's Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko emphasized that control over the plant is key to its safe operation. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) also urged Russia to leave the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and raised concerns about damage to one of the power supply lines. The situation at the plant is unstable, so the IAEA recommends not restarting the reactors while the conflict continues.
