They fought as part of 'Wagner' since 2014: law enforcement uncovered 85 citizens of Moldova.

Police of Ukraine and Moldova collaborated to find criminals who participated in military actions on the territory of Ukraine for the Russian Federation. As a result, the role of 85 citizens of Moldova in these events was uncovered. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
Among those detained were mercenaries from the 'Wagner' and 'Somali' battalions and other illegal armed formations that conducted military actions against Ukraine.
It was revealed that they participated in the seizure of Bakhmut, the battle for Donetsk airport, and the creation of the 'Debaltseve encirclement' from 2014 to 2023.
The message noted: 'Some of them achieved such significant success in combat actions that they received the Order of 'For Courage' from the leadership of the Russian Federation.'
To neutralize the criminals, over 200 police officers were involved. Law enforcement conducted more than 50 searches at places of residence and registration throughout Moldova. The first three militants out of 85 that could be identified have already been detained.
During the searches, mobile phones were seized, which contained photos, videos, and other evidence. In particular, correspondence with a 'Wagner' recruiter was found, discussing the terms of recruitment and service.
