Enemy succeeded in Donetsk and Kursk regions, while AFU advanced near Kupiansk – ISW report.


Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reviewed maps and satellite images and reported that Russian occupiers are actively operating in the Donetsk region and advancing in the Kursk region. The Ukrainian AFU also have partial success in the Kupiansk direction.
AFU operation in the Kursk region
Recently, Russian forces advanced into the territory of the Kursk region and have continued fighting in this area since October 19.
Geolocated images from October 18 show that Russian forces have captured Lyubymivka, Leonidovo, Mala Loknia, and Viktoryvka. Additionally, there are reports of troop advances in Martynivka and Plekhovo.
The AFU conducted counterattacks as part of the Ukrainian push in the Kursk region.
Kharkiv region
The occupiers continue offensive actions in the area near Vovchansk and Starytsia, but have not had success so far.
Luhansk region
On October 19, Russian occupiers launched an offensive south of Kupiansk, but were defeated by the Ukrainian AFU.
Ukrainian defenders are also progressing southeast of Kupiansk.
Donetsk region
Russian troops repelled an offensive southwest of Donetsk, but there were no significant confirmed changes.
Southern axis
Russian troops continue advancing northeast of Robotyne, but with no confirmed changes on the frontline.
As a result of a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, more than ten people were injured, but emergency rescue operations continue.
It also became known that some regions in Russia suffered emergency situations and fires due to the appearance of drones.
