Volunteers are fined for handing over cars to military units: a MP sounds the alarm.

The MP claims that volunteers have been penalized for handing over cars to military units
According to MP and member of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy, Nina Yuzhanina, volunteers are fined up to 100 thousand hryvnias for handing over cars to military units. She reported this on Telegram.
Yuzhanina states that such fines are most often imposed for handing over cars that were imported in 2022 and 2023. Volunteers hand over these cars to other military units, instead of those specified in the customs declarations.
“Among the arguments is a formal violation of customs rules. However, these cars have indeed been handed over to military units, but volunteers cannot amend the customs declarations (the law does not allow it),” emphasizes Yuzhanina.
Currently, the MP has submitted an amendment to the Customs Code, which proposes to abolish responsibility for handing over cars that were imported as humanitarian aid if these cars are handed over to any military unit and this is confirmed by relevant documents.
The government has introduced a temporary state registration of vehicles
The government of Ukraine has implemented a mechanism for temporary state registration of vehicles that military personnel receive as humanitarian aid and use for the defense of the state. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
It should be noted that as part of the initiative “Pickups for Peace,” volunteers and farmers have handed over 38 SUVs to Lviv region for Ukrainian military.
