In the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Mariupol Brigade, an internal investigation has begun regarding Sergey Gnezdilov, who left the unit without permission. The brigade's press service emphasizes zero tolerance for such actions.
«Service member of the 56th SMIBr Sergey Gnezdilov committed actions that contain signs of a criminal offense under the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An internal investigation has been appointed for this case, and all procedural actions provided by law are being carried out», - stated the brigade.
Sergey Gnezdilov left the unit, expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of established service terms in the army and the obligation of Ukrainian citizens to defend the state according to the Constitution. In particular, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that exempts military personnel from criminal liability for the first unauthorized departure from the unit and desertion, but written consent from the commander is required to return to service.
