Pope Francis continues treatment in the hospital

The condition of 88-year-old Pope Francis remains stable: respiratory therapy and physiotherapy are ongoing. The Pope even co-celebrated the Holy Mass in the hospital. The press service of the Holy See informed about the health of Pope Francis, who has been in the hospital since February 14. Thus, according to the Vatican's message, the Pope's condition remains stable. 'In the morning he co-celebrated the Sunday Holy Mass in the chapel next to his room and did not receive any visitors that day. He continues his prescribed therapy with good results, including respiratory and movement rehabilitation, and spent the day in prayer, rest, and some work,' the message states.

In the photo published by the Vatican, Francis is facing the crucifix at the altar of the chapel in the hospital. The pontiff prays there daily, since he has been feeling a bit better, his representatives say.

Recall that the Pope will remain hospitalized in the coming days and will continue his medication treatment. Doctors will monitor his condition. The day before, on March 10, the Pope was able to do spiritual exercises. Throughout the day, he alternated between prayer and rest, and the night was calm. Since February 14, Pope Francis has been in the 'Agostino Gemelli' clinic. In January, he fell ill with bronchitis, but later the disease progressed, and he was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia. Specifically, on February 9, Pope Francis was unable to finish delivering his sermon due to breathing problems. Earlier, Hlavkom reported that the pontiff mentioned Ukraine in his traditional reflection before the Sunday prayer 'Angel of the Lord.' Last Sunday, March 9, the Pope urged to pray for peace for 'suffering Ukraine,' as well as Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
