Special movement regime to be introduced in Uman during Rosh Hashanah.

Enhanced security measures due to the pilgrimage of Hasidim in Uman
In the city of Uman, starting Monday, September 23, security measures will be enhanced due to the pilgrimage of Hasidim during the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. This was reported by the head of Cherkasy OVA, Ihor Taburets.
In particular, a special regime for entry and exit, as well as the movement of citizens, will be in effect. Entry of vehicles from highway M-30 to Uman via Derevyanko, Orekhova streets, and from the village of Rodnykivka to Uman via Pavlova street is prohibited. Additionally, the control and checkpoint regime will be strengthened at seven road sections around the city. In the pilgrimage area, the sale of alcohol, fireworks, and pyrotechnic items is also prohibited.
Local residents are also asked to understand these measures.
«Hasidic pilgrims have started arriving in the Cherkasy region for the celebration of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. However, due to the limited number of shelters, the city cannot guarantee one hundred percent safety», said Uman Mayor Iryna Pletnyova.
Call to refrain from pilgrimage to Uman
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urges Hasidim to refrain from pilgrimage to Uman for the celebration of Rosh Hashanah due to Russia's military aggression. Pilgrims should take into account the restrictions of martial law and possible complications during their stay.
