The number of marriage contracts in Ukraine is rising again.

In 2024, Ukrainians concluded over 2,700 marriage contracts, which is 7% more than in 2023. However, this number is still less than before the war began. This is reported by Opendatabot.
Before the full-scale war, a record number of marriage contracts were concluded - 4,099. In 2023, there was one marriage contract for every 72 marriages, and now there is already one for 54.
Expert Talina Kravtsova notes that marriage contracts are very popular right now, as they allow for the determination of property status that partners will receive after the conclusion of the contract. She points out that for couples where one partner is a foreigner, a marriage contract is standard practice, which indicates a serious approach to planning marital relationships. However, the war has not reduced the demand for marriage contracts among Ukrainians.
In 2023, 150,210 new marriages were concluded, which is 19% less than in 2023 and 30% less than before the war began.
On average, in 2024, 12,500 couples married each month, which is the lowest figure in the last 10 years.
Additionally, a false couple was discovered at the Ukrainian-Polish border, who concluded a marriage for the purpose of illegal exit from the country. This story involves a 26-year-old Kyiv resident and a 42-year-old resident of the capital who is a disabled person.
It is also worth noting that the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, attempted twice to divorce his wife Anna, but both times he changed his mind. This is reported by Glavkom in an article titled 'Timur and his team. Who set a new trap for Klitschko.'
