Fuel prices in Ukraine sharply increased: analysis of gas station prices in mid-January.

Gasoline prices in Ukraine have risen due to increased excise taxes, wholesale price hikes, and a decline in the currency exchange rate
The Ukrainian fuel market has faced a sudden increase in prices. According to the consulting group 'A-95', prices for all types of fuel at the largest gas station networks significantly rose from January 6 to 14, 2025. Experts explain this increase by higher excise taxes, rising wholesale prices for fuel, and a decline in the national currency exchange rate.
The highest price increase is observed for diesel fuel, which saw the highest excise tax imposed. The price of diesel fuel increased by 65 kopecks per liter and is now 53.77 UAH/l. The price of A-95 gasoline rose by 21 kopecks to 56.07 UAH/l, while premium A-95+ fuel increased by 16 kopecks to 59.26 UAH/l.
Networks such as VST, 'Ukr-Petrol', 'Olas', and 'Avtotrans' particularly noted a sharp rise in diesel fuel prices, which increased by 2-2.30 UAH per liter. The 'Parallel' network also raised prices by 1-1.50 UAH/l depending on the region.
Significant price hikes were also observed in the networks BVS, Marshal, 'Kvorum', 'Factor', 'Ukrnafta', Ovis, VostokGaz, ZOG, 'Katrall', SUNOIL, Green Wave, and RLS, where prices rose by more than one UAH per liter. The highest price increase for gasoline was recorded at the gas station 'Olas', where the price jumped by 1.49 UAH and is now 54.99 UAH/l.
A trend of rising fuel prices is also seen in the European market, especially for diesel fuel, linked to the overall increase in oil prices.
