Ukrainian Cyclist Wins 'Gold' at the Paralympic Games.

Ukrainian cyclist Yegor Dementyev became the winner of the group road race at the 2024 Paralympic Games. The competition results confirm this.
The distance of 14.2 kilometers in classes C4-5 was completed first by the Ukrainian. Moreover, this is the athlete's second victory this year. Previously, he won silver in the individual pursuit on the track.
Throughout the entire race, Dementyev stayed among the leaders. His main rivals were the Frenchmen Kevin le Cunff and Gatien le Rousseau, as well as the Dutchman Maarten van de Pol. As a result, the Ukrainian turned out to be the fastest.
All four cyclists finished with the same Time. However, the photo finish showed that Dementyev was first, ahead of le Cunff by a whole bike length. Van de Pol took third place.
Overall, Dementyev has won five gold medals at various Paralympic Games. However, this is his first victory in a group race since London 2012. Back then, he was also the best in the road race.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian Paralympians continue to delight with their achievements in Paris. On the eighth day of the competition, they won nine medals, including two gold, two silver, and five bronze.
