Ukrainian basketball player is vying for the title of the best player of the season in the EuroLeague.

The captain of the women's national team of Ukraine and the Spanish team Valencia, Alina Yagupova, has been nominated for the title of the best player of the season in the women's EuroLeague. This was reported by the official website of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine, citing the FIBA website.

The FIBA website presents five nominations based on the tournament results, in which fans can participate. In addition to the most valuable player of the season, voting is also underway for the symbolic team, best defender, young player, and coach of the year.

Alina Yagupova is included in three of the five nominations. Among the ten candidates for the title of the most valuable player of the season, she is the only player from the Valencia team. Alina has won this title twice in 2020 and 2021.

Alina Yagupova is also among the contenders for the title of best defender and may be included in the symbolic team of the season.

The winners of the awards will be determined by the votes of coaches, team captains, media representatives, and fans.

In the current EuroLeague season, Alina Yagupova is averaging 29.8 minutes on the court, scoring 11.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.

In the regular championship, the Valencia team ranked second in its group, and then defeated the winner of another group - the Mersin team from Turkey.
