A Ukrainian Went to Fight for the Russians, but They Sold Him to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the communications department of the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the military counterintelligence of the SBU, together with the soldiers of the 95th Brigade, conducted a special operation involving a Russian soldier. The Russian soldier brought a prisoner of war from the occupied Donetsk region to the Ukrainian paratroopers for a fee.
A Ukrainian who fought on the side of the Russians admitted that he served only for money, as earning money in the occupied territory had become more difficult.
The soldiers reported that the prisoner considered himself special among the Russians, but for them, Ukrainians had always been just a resource. The operation took place at the end of last year and allowed the detention of a Russian who had abused the situation.
Further Steps and Arrests of Mercenaries
In court, the prisoner will be charged under Article 111 'Treason', which may lead to his imprisonment for 15 years. Francisco Garcia, along with other Cubans, became a victim of deceptive offers and was brought to Ukraine as a mercenary from forced labor in Russia.
Recently, a mercenary from Nigeria was also arrested, who served in the Russian military in Ukraine. During the special operation, Ukrainian security forces, together with paratroopers, uncovered the abuse of a Russian soldier and handed him over to law enforcement for further examination and investigation.
Ukrainian military and SBU counterintelligence carried out a successful special operation, during which mercenaries from the Russian military contingent were detained. They are actively working to detect and stop the activities of illegal militants on the territory of Ukraine, which is very important for the national security of the country.
