The government of Ukraine is calling on the international community and the OSCE to intervene in Russia's policy, which systematically losses Ukrainian prisoners of war.
This information was reported by Ukraine's creative representative in international organizations in Vienna, Victoria Kuvshinnikova, during the OSCE Permanent Council meeting. This was reported by Ukrinform.
“There is already a multitude of evidence that the execution of Ukrainian prisoners is a systematic policy of Russia. According to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Russia has lost at least 177 Ukrainian prisoners of war since the beginning of the invasion in 2022. Out of 109 cases that occurred only in 2024, we see that Russia's violations of international norms and rules of warfare are critical and increasing,” emphasized Kuvshinnikova.
Kuvshinnikova also noted that on January 23, 2025, another six Ukrainian prisoners of war were lost by the Russian Federation in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. This crime was filmed and spread on the Internet.
