Ukraine develops a strategy for the return of evacuated children from abroad.

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, together with other state bodies and international partners, is working on a plan for the return of children who were evacuated abroad from round-the-clock care facilities during the Russian aggression.
The Ministry of Social Policy website reports that the main priority is to ensure the best interests of the children. To achieve this, an individual assessment of the needs of each child is planned, as well as visits to the countries where the children are located. Such visits have already taken place to some countries, with support from the UNICEF.
We strive for children to be placed in family care. - Deputy Minister of Social Policy Iryna Postolovska noted.
During the visits, an assessment of the children's needs and living conditions is carried out. Access to education and the availability of necessary documents are also checked. The head of the State Service of Ukraine for Children Petro Dobromylsky emphasizes the importance of taking into account the presence of siblings when settling children in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Social Policy reports that there are about 2000 children left abroad who were evacuated as part of groups. Ukraine expresses gratitude to the countries that provided temporary protection to the children, but stresses that the return to Ukraine is important for preserving national identity and receiving Ukrainian education.
The Government of Ukraine has already adopted a resolution regulating the process of returning evacuated children and providing for their priority placement in family care.
In addition, Ukraine is also working on the return of illegally deported children to the Russian Federation. A large number of Ukrainian children were taken to Russia by occupiers.
