Ukraine announced the team for the European Cup in throwing disciplines.

The Ukrainian athletics team has already chosen its squad for participation in the European Cup in throwing. Information about the team composition was published on the official website of the Ukrainian Athletics Federation.

This year, the European Cup in throwing will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus. Ukraine will be represented by 12 athletes, which is six less than last year.

Among the Ukrainian athletes participating in the competitions are Mykhailo Kokhan and Iryna Klymets, who will compete in hammer throw, as well as Mykhailo Brudin, who intends to throw discus. Meanwhile, Artur Fel’fner will not be able to participate in the competitions due to the start of the season in Doha.

Medailles will be awarded at the European Cup in both adult and youth categories. In each category, eight sets of medals will be awarded.

  • Hammer throw: Mykhailo Kokhan

Women:

  • Shot put: Olha Holodna
  • U23 shot put: Anhelina Shepel
  • U23 discus throw: Karina Avramenko
  • Hammer throw: Iryna Klymets
  • U23 hammer throw: Polina Dzerozhynska
  • U23 javelin throw: Milana Korneeva

The European Cup in throwing will take place on March 15-16.

European Cup in throwing: what is known

In 2024, Ukraine won three medals at the European Cup in throwing disciplines: Mykhailo Kokhan and Artur Fel’fner became champions, while Mykhailo Brudin won silver in the U23 category. This allowed Ukraine to take first place in the medal standings of the tournament.

The first European Cup in throwing took place in 2001, when Ukraine finished in second place and received three medals, one of which was gold.

In 2007, our athletes set a national record for medals at the tournament (three gold and six awards in total).
