Angry crowds gathered in Pakistan after the attack on Shia Muslims
In the city of Parachinar, angry crowds gathered after an attack on buses that resulted in the deaths of 40 Shia Muslims. The city often experiences violence between Sunnis and Shiites over land and power. Shiites have also been targeted by Islamist Sunni militants who consider them heretics.
Hundreds of angry citizens gathered in the main market
The situation in the city is very unstable, with hundreds of angry citizens gathering in the main market. All markets, educational institutions, transportation, and other businesses are closed.
Details of the attack were reported by one of the injured
According to one of the injured, they were traveling in a convoy of about 100 vehicles under police escort, but some vehicles were stopped and shot at from both sides. The attackers knew they were Shiites, so they specifically stopped the vehicles and began firing at passengers who were very close. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
25 people died at the train station
Additionally, an explosion at a railway station in Balochistan province resulted in at least 25 deaths. This is not the first instance of violence in this province. The conflict between Baloch and the governments of Iran and Pakistan is about an ethnic-religious dispute. Sunni Baloch feel discriminated against in Iran, while Sunni Baloch terrorize Shiites.
