In Czechia, a woman who worked as a cashier at a betting shop was arrested for stealing over 2600 instant lottery tickets over the course of a year. The total losses from this theft are estimated at over 700,000 crowns. For this crime, she faces up to five years in prison. This was reported by «Glavkom» referencing vinegret.cz.
Miroslav Shupik, a police representative, stated that the woman was scratching off tickets, thus leaving them invisible for sale. Law enforcement is now determining how many of the scratched tickets turned out to be winning tickets, as well as how much money she received.
