Decrease in the number of registered diesel cars in Ukraine
In 2024, a decrease in the number of registered diesel vehicles is observed in the Ukrainian automotive market. A total of 73 thousand units were registered, which is 14% less than in the previous year.
However, the segment of new diesel cars showed an increase of 28%, reaching a total of 17.8 thousand units. At the same Time, the import of used diesel cars decreased by 22%, totaling 55.2 thousand units.
The share of diesel cars in the market of new passenger vehicles rose from 22.8% to 25.6%. But among imported used cars, the share of diesel models decreased from 30% to 24.8%.
Leaders in sales of new diesel cars in 2024:
- RENAULT Duster - 5246 units
- VOLKSWAGEN Touareg - 1217 units
- TOYOTA Hilux - 1072 units
- PEUGEOT Landtrek - 826 units
- SKODA Kodiaq - 774 units
In the segment of imported used diesel cars, preference is given to European models:
- RENAULT Megane - 5021 units
- SKODA Octavia - 3924 units
- VOLKSWAGEN Passat - 3731 units
- NISSAN Qashqai - 2943 units
- VOLKSWAGEN Golf - 2050 units
This data indicates a change in the preferences of Ukrainian car owners and a transformation of the automotive market structure as a whole.
