Trump has already given Putin 'three big gifts', - Newsweek.

The administration of the new US President Donald Trump has made three important steps in a short period that bring victory to Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by senior Newsweek reporter Brendan Cole.
The Russian Kremlin positively received the Trump administration's decision to impose sanctions against the International Criminal Court. This decision is considered part of the American administration's strategy that could benefit Putin.
A week after US federal law enforcement agencies halted the fight against Russian influence campaigns, Trump announced sanctions against the ICC. In addition, the US Department of Justice also ceased efforts to enforce sanctions and prosecute oligarchs close to the Kremlin.
According to reports, the Trump administration is easing pressure on Putin by imposing sanctions against the ICC. Russian propagandists are receiving this rhetoric and decisions positively as they may be favorable for Russia.
One person from the Kremlin called Trump's sanctions 'great news' and claimed that the ICC had become 'too arrogant'. Another Russian diplomat called this move 'a gift to Moscow'.
Furthermore, US Attorney General Bondi released political memos that could significantly impact Russia. One of them discusses the disbanding of the KleptoCapture task force, which was engaged in imposing sanctions on oligarchs linked to the Kremlin and confiscating their yachts.
Bondi stated that the policy against Russia is being redirected to combat cartels. She noted that the task force will continue investigations, but there will no longer be centralized activities in the Department of Justice, which will likely reduce attention on Russian figures. Additionally, efforts by federal law enforcement to combat influence campaigns from Russia and China have also been canceled.
It should be noted that the Trump administration may strengthen sanctions against Russia to stop the war in Ukraine, said Trump's special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg. Earlier, Trump revealed details of a conversation with Putin about ending the war in Ukraine.
