Judge in Odesa region deprived of bonuses — what he was punished for.


The High Council of Justice has temporarily deprived judge Oleg Ivynskyi of bonuses from the salary at the Podilskyi (Kotovskyi) District Court. In the opinion of the HCJ, he was releasing drivers who were driving under the influence from liability.
This is stated in the decision of the High Justice Chamber.
Without bonuses
Oleg Ivynskyi has been deprived of bonuses to the salary for a month. Such a measure was applied due to a complaint that he was releasing drivers who were caught driving while intoxicated from liability. The judge limited himself to verbal remarks and insignificant fines.
According to the HCJ, Ivynskyi released 14 drivers from liability.
Judge's position
Oleg Ivynskyi explained that he was releasing drivers from liability due to their sincere admission and the fact that all of them were caught driving drunk for the first Time. He also added that the offenders did not harm anyone with their actions.
What the judge declared
Oleg Ivynskyi declared eight thousand dollars in cash last year. The judge owns three cars: a Soviet GAZ, a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander worth 136 thousand and a 2016 Volvo XC60 worth 253 thousand. His earnings for 2024 were 1.56 million hryvnias, or about 130 thousand hryvnias per month (including bonuses and premiums).
