The court ordered the accused of fraud to read the books of Zhadan and Skovoroda.

The court issued a verdict against the accused of fraud
In the Malinovsky District Court of Odesa, a decision was made according to which the accused in the fraud case was ordered to read works of fiction. This information was disclosed in the text of the verdict.
According to the investigation, the accused owns an online store that sells gel balls. He received an order worth 25,600 hryvnias, but the goods were not sent to the buyer, and the money was spent at his discretion.
Later, the accused was called up for military service, where he currently serves.
The court found the serviceman guilty and assigned him one year of probation supervision.
In addition, the court ordered him to read the following books:
- Internat - Serhiy Zhadan;
- The Notebook - Agota Kristof;
- A Conversation of Five Travelers on True Happiness in Life - Hryhoriy Skovoroda.
Reading such literature should distract a person from negative thoughts and guide them toward real life, toward understanding good and evil. If one pays attention to the details, one can notice a desire for beauty and manifestations of love for other people. Sensitivity will not replace kindness, honesty will not turn into self-love or self-satisfaction, and the consciousness of duty will be unattainable for an individual whose priority is only benefit and convenience.
Regarding the works of Hryhoriy Skovoroda, the verdict notes that this philosophical book in the form of a friendly dialogue defines the meaning of life and the direction of thoughts that every person should have. The author claims that achieving general happiness is only possible through hard work.
The text also states that the novel 'Internat' by Serhiy Zhadan (2017) vividly describes the beginning of the war in eastern Ukraine when not one Ukrainian anticipated such a turn of events.
