The wealth of world billionaires increased by $2 trillion last year - Oxfam.

Billionaires' wealth is growing faster than ever
According to information from Oxfam, world billionaires became richer by two trillion dollars in 2024, which is three times faster than the previous year. Oxfam is an organization that fights against global poverty and inequality.
'In 2024, the wealth of billionaires increased by 2 trillion US dollars, equivalent to 5.7 billion US dollars a day. This is three times faster than before. Almost four new billionaires appeared every week,' representatives of the organization reported.
The number of billionaires in the world also increased to 2,769, compared to 2,565 last year.
'Total wealth increased from 13 to 15 trillion US dollars over 12 months, which is the second-largest annual increase in billionaires. The wealth of the ten richest people grew by an average of 100 million dollars a day. Even if they lost 99% of their wealth overnight, they would still remain billionaires,' Oxfam added.
The organization had previously predicted that the first trillionaire in history would emerge within the next 10 years. However, with wealth growing at current rates, their forecast has changed. The organization reported that under these conditions, there could be at least five trillionaires in the world during this period.
At the same Time, according to the World Bank, the number of people living in poverty has hardly changed since 1990.
