The USA to Resume GLSDB Bomb Deliveries to Ukraine Amid Depletion of ATACMS Stocks - Media.

The USA has agreed to resume deliveries of GLSDB bombs to Ukraine after modernization to counter Russian jamming. According to Reuters, these munitions are a replacement for the depleted stocks of ATACMS missiles.
The bombs were purchased by the Biden administration through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. In total, the USA has spent $33.2 billion on weapons and military equipment for Kyiv.
The Trump administration agreed to resume military aid and intelligence sharing after Kyiv agreed to a ceasefire proposal with Russia.
In recent weeks, 19 GLSDB units have been tested to verify their effectiveness after modernization.
Stocks are already present in Europe, so the resumption of GLSDB deliveries could take place in the coming days. Ukraine has previously used this weapon, but Russian jamming prevented it from hitting targets.
Ukraine had previously requested weapons with a greater range than GMLRS missiles to strike Russian supply lines and concentrations.
In response, Boeing proposed a new weapon - GLSDB with a range of 100 miles. This gliding bomb consists of a GBU-39 bomb and an M26 rocket motor.
However, the GLSDB’s navigation system has been successfully targeted by Russian jamming.
The bomb is produced jointly by SAAB AB and Boeing and was developed long before Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russian jamming has been used against Ukrainian radio stations, drones, and even artillery munitions.
