One of the Patriot air defense systems, which was previously located in Israel, will be transported to Ukraine by summer. Negotiations are underway with Greece and Germany regarding the transfer of another system to Kyiv. This information was published by the New York Times, citing U.S. officials.

According to these sources, the Patriot system from Israel will be transferred to Ukraine by summer after upgrading. It is unknown whether the decision to provide the system was made under the administration of Donald Trump or his predecessor Joe Biden.

It is also known that Western allies are discussing the possibility of transferring another system to Ukraine from Germany or Greece. In total, according to the New York Times, Ukraine currently has eight Patriot complexes.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated his readiness to buy ten Patriot systems from the United States for 15 billion dollars. He also emphasized that the United States sells such systems to Israel.

'I'm not saying that Israel doesn't need such systems, but if we are partners, why not find a way to protect Ukraine?' Zelensky noted.

Zelensky mentioned that he offered various options during his conversation with President Donald Trump: to buy Patriot systems or obtain a license for their production. He also reported that Ukraine is working on creating an analogue of the Patriot system. However, Trump refused to sell these systems to Ukraine for 50 billion dollars.
