How many Russians believe that the war in Ukraine is progressing successfully: survey data.

The results of the study showed that 60% of Russians believe that the war in Ukraine is progressing successfully. The share of those confident in the benefits of the war also decreased - from 38% to 28%. Most Russians see overall grief and suffering (52%), military losses (21%), worsening economic situation (18%) and general rejection of the war (13%). The share of those seeing deterioration in relations with other countries (7%) and the death of civilians (7%) has also increased.
A previous study conducted in February 2024 showed that 70% of Russians were in favor of the success of combat operations. Thus, there is a decrease in support for the war among the Russian population in recent times.
The study also revealed that 76% of Ukrainians do not support the actions of the Russian occupiers in Ukraine, whereas 16% of Russians support Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Additionally, some Ukrainians have negative attitudes towards Russia and its residents. Specifically, 80% of those surveyed have a negative association when they hear the words "Russia" or "ordinary residents of Russia." Only 6% of respondents have a neutral or positive opinion, and 14% have no specific opinion.
It should be noted that most Ukrainians believe that the Time for official negotiations with Russia has already come. However, a necessary condition for concluding a peace agreement is the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine to the borders of 1991.
