According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in the Pokrovsk direction, with the help of the Russian Federation, 7,000 personnel have permanently died and a total of 15,000, including the wounded and missing. This is more than the Russian fatalities during the entire Second Chechen War, which lasted longer.
'The Second Chechen War saw 6,000 Russian casualties throughout the entire period. So, under Pokrovsk alone in January, there are more Russian deaths than during the entire Second Chechen War,' said the spokesperson for the operational-strategic grouping of troops 'Khortytsia', Viktor Trehubov.
According to Trehubov, the enemy is currently concentrating all its forces and reserves to encircle the city. However, they have been unable to cut the routes leading to the city from the west and southwest. The enemy is suffering heavy losses and is trying to hold out in small villages to the southwest of Pokrovsk.
