Sybiga at the UN Security Council: International mechanisms to stop wars have failed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs warns about the inaction of the international community
Andrii Sybiga, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated at the Security Council meeting that a thousand days of Russian aggression demonstrate that international mechanisms are unable to stop the war and crimes against humanity. He emphasized that new tools need to be created to uphold the UN Charter. According to the minister, the world must pay a high price if it chooses understanding over simple peace. He stressed that no one suffers more from Russian aggression than the Ukrainian people.
The minister reminded that agreements with the Russian Federation are unreliable. Russia has violated about 400 international treaties since the onset of aggression in 2014. He also mentioned the Budapest Memorandum, which reflects a lack of trust in Russia. Ukraine unequivocally supports territorial integrity and sovereignty. The fastest way to end the war is to increase support for Ukraine's self-defense and force Russia to withdraw its troops. Providing necessary means and lifting restrictions on the use of weapons will help achieve peace.
