Rutte outlines NATO's red lines in negotiations regarding Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that NATO is not participating in negotiations to end the war between Ukraine and Russia. According to him, the negotiations are actually being conducted by the U.S. together with Ukraine and Russia. 'We, as NATO, are not participating in these negotiations. They are indeed being led by the U.S. together with Ukraine and Russia. I am glad that the U.S. has broken the deadlock and these negotiations are now ongoing,' Rutte said.
Rutte also emphasized that the talks are progressing slowly due to Russia, not Ukraine, and 'the ball is clearly in the Russian court' now. He stated that NATO, as a separate organization, has no 'red lines' in negotiations, as it is not involved in this process. 'I believe that NATO has no red lines of its own, as we are not part of this process. But, of course, overall, we want Ukraine to be a proud sovereign state that moves forward. That is what we all strive for. It must be a fair and lasting peace. Putin must never try to do this again,' added the Secretary General.
Earlier, Mark Rutte had already mentioned the amount of security assistance to Ukraine from the Alliance.
