The Naval Forces reported that helicopters are being used by the Russian military to destroy sea drones in the waters of the Black Sea.
'There is no particular sense in this in the Sea of Azov, but in the Black Sea - yes, in the eastern part, helicopters can often be seen. They use them because they have chosen this as one of the ways to combat sea drones,' - said the spokesman of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
According to Pletenchuk, the helicopters help the occupiers to more easily carry out tasks of monitoring and escorting sea drones along their trajectory. In addition, patrol aircraft are also used.
'They also use patrol aircraft, which also belong to the rotorcraft category, for example, An-26, Be-12, and Be-200 - old models, but they have low speed and altitude. This allows the aircraft to monitor, to search for these units,' - Pletenchuk explained.
