The Netherlands has planned screenings of the film 'Russians at War'. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the Ukrainian embassy in the Netherlands on Facebook.

'The Ukrainian embassy in the Netherlands is deeply concerned about the planned screenings of the documentary film 'Russians at War' by Russian director Anastasia Trofimova,' the diplomatic representation stated.

According to the embassy representatives, such a film is a piece of Russian propaganda that distorts the reality of Russia's genocidal war against Ukraine. With its help, the Russian Federation misleads viewers and spreads its toxic narratives.

The Security Service of Ukraine claims that such a film is an element of IPSO (information-psychological special operation) carried out by Russian special services. The purpose of such a special operation is to justify and support the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation.

At the same Time, the film's director Anastasia Trofimova violated Ukrainian legislation - she illegally crossed the state border of Ukraine to shoot the film. A criminal case has been opened against her for justifying and recognizing as legitimate Russian aggression.

'Given this information, the embassy will consider any support for the screening of this film as assistance to the information efforts of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. We expect that the screening of the documentary propaganda film 'Russians at War' will be cancelled,' the embassy noted.

'Russians at War' is a Canadian-French documentary film from 2024, directed by the Canadian director of Russian descent, Anastasia Trofimova.

The film portrays Russian soldiers fighting on the front lines in the occupied territories of Ukraine, and civilians hiding their husbands during the Ukraine-Russia war, allegedly supporting Russian aggression.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine added the film's director, former employee of the propaganda channel 'Russia Today', Anastasia Trofimova, to the 'black list'.

Earlier, pro-Ukrainian protests took place outside the largest hall of the International Film Festival (TIFF) Lightbox in Toronto. The reason was the decision to show the film by Russian director Anastasia Trofimova 'Russians at War', which caused outrage in the Ukrainian and international communities.

It is worth noting that the Canadian non-profit charity organization TVO decided to stop supporting and broadcasting the documentary film 'Russians at War' by Russian-Canadian director Anastasia Trofimova.

Additionally, the Security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal proceeding against the film director Anastasia Trofimova.
