Russia once again did not return the body of journalist Roschina who died in captivity.


During the recent repatriation efforts, the body of Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roschina, who died in Russian captivity, was not returned to Ukraine. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
«The Russian side did not return the body of Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roschina to Ukraine during the repatriation on November 29», - the statement said.
Today, on November 29, the bodies of 502 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine. On November 8, the bodies of 563 deceased military personnel were returned.
Journalist Viktoria Roschina died on October 10. There is no information about the circumstances of her death. It is known that she was being prepared for exchange and was transferred from Taganrog to Moscow, which was part of the process of preparing her for release.
Roschina had been at the front since the beginning of the invasion. She was held by representatives of the Russian Federal Security Service. On March 22, she was released from captivity by Russian forces who forced her to record a video denying any claims against the Russian special services.
Later, on August 3, 2023, Viktoria Roschina disappeared during a trip to territories occupied by Russia. Her family last spoke with her on August 3, when she reported that she had passed border checks but did not say where she was. A statement about her disappearance was filed with Ukrainian law enforcement agencies on August 12, 2023. The family also registered an official case of disappearance with the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Reintegration, and the Ombudsman’s Office on September 21.
According to the GUR, Roschina was supposed to be included in one of the upcoming prisoner exchanges.
