Register of Damages: The Ministry of Justice has signed a tripartite Memorandum.

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the Coordination Center for Legal Aid signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Register of Damages caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the document is intended to unite efforts to provide citizens with legal aid and support for submitting applications to the Register of Damages.
This will allow for more information, legal support for submitting applications, and access to necessary information, documents, and data required to submit applications to the Register of Damages.
The parties will cooperate in providing legal aid to applicants, ensuring methodological support for government agencies, developing informational materials, and conducting introductory sessions and training for staff of the free legal aid system and lawyers. In addition, joint organization of events and exchange of information is planned to enhance the effectiveness of work in the specified areas.
'Currently, applications are being accepted for nine categories, six of which were opened during discussions with the Prime Minister of Ukraine. Our desire is to raise awareness about the availability of mechanisms for submitting applications for those affected by this terrible war. This will serve as a factual basis for decision-making in the future. The atrocities that have occurred in Ukraine cannot go unpunished. And you can be assured that we will do everything possible to succeed in this direction,' emphasized the head of the Register Council, Robert Spano.
We remind you that the Register of Damages serves Ukraine for the documentary turnover of evidence and information related to applications for compensation for damages, losses, or harm caused since February 24, 2022. Nearly 20,000 applications have been submitted to the Register.
Recently, new categories of applications have been opened for individuals affected by serious violations due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
They include:
- A1.1 'Forced Internal Displacement';
- A2.3 'Serious Bodily Injury';
- A2.4 'Sexual Violence';
- A2.5 'Torture or Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment';
- A2.6 'Deprivation of Liberty';
- A2.7 'Forced Labor or Service'.
The opening of additional categories of applications will continue gradually in the future.
