Congressman Mike Waltz: The War in Ukraine Must Be Ended Through Negotiations
Candidate for National Security Advisor in Donald Trump's administration, Mike Waltz, stated in an interview with The Sunday Special the necessity to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations. He expressed concern over the Biden administration's inconsistent approach to this conflict and the lack of a clear plan. Waltz also emphasized that Russia is transforming its economy into a military one and continues to expand. He highlighted the importance of including all parties in the negotiation process and strengthening NATO.
"Russia is transforming its economy into a military one and continues to attempt to expand, so our response should be more vigorous. We need to bring all interested parties to the negotiating table and reinforce NATO," Waltz emphasized.
Waltz also shared his views on the energy aspect of the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that the U.S. has the potential to provide the global market with cleaner American oil and gas. Additionally, he stressed the need to increase defense spending among NATO member countries and address a wide range of U.S. foreign policy issues, such as relations with China and countering Chinese influence.
