Trump's advisor commented on the likelihood of US invasion of Canada.

US President Donald Trump's national security advisor, Mike Waltz, stated that Trump has no intention of invading Canada. He responded to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's statement that the Trump administration is discussing the possibility of absorbing Canada and joining it with the US.
Waltz explained that many Canadians view the US positively, but noted that there are no plans for an invasion of Canada. He also mentioned that many Canadians do not like Trudeau, who has been governing Canada for the past 10 years.
Waltz emphasized that Trump seeks to affirm US leadership in the Western Hemisphere, from the Arctic to the Panama Canal.
After his election, Trump expressed the possibility of Canada joining the US, but this issue remains open for now.
On February 1, the US President signed an order imposing 25% tariffs on goods exported to the US by Canada and Mexico. In response, Trudeau's government introduced similar tariffs.
