A clash occurred at the Christmas market in Szczecin over a kiosk where nuns from Belarus were working. These nuns are known for their pro-Russian views. The kiosk, belonging to the St. Elizabeth Monastery from Minsk, became the target of protests by activists of Belarusian descent living in Szczecin. They held a protest action near the stand where the nuns were working.
The market organizers decided to terminate the contract with the nuns after the protests. They stated that they tried to prevent further sales at the kiosk after receiving information about the nuns' activities. This issue with the nuns is not limited to Szczecin alone; they have appeared at other events in Poland before. Similarly, Russian propagandists faced issues in Germany, where their representation was shut down by the authorities, and they were requested to leave the country.'These nuns travel all over Europe to trade and earn money, some of which they use to support Lukashenko's regime, and some to support Russian soldiers in Ukraine,' said Olga Khomich from the civic initiative 'Szczecin 646'. 'They do not even hide that they are buying weapons for Russian soldiers,' she added.
