Russian troops shot five Ukrainian captured fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Vuhledar in Donetsk region. This information was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
On October 2, during the assault on Ukrainian positions, the Russians captured five Ukrainian fighters. One of the captives was killed in the woods, while the other four were taken to the road and shot.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the killing of captives is a serious violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a serious international crime.
It should be noted that Russia continually commits war crimes, killing Ukrainian prisoners of war to intimidate its own soldiers and demonstrate its disregard for international humanitarian law.
