Promising 18-Year-Old Footballer Dies After Knee to Head.


18-year-old defender of the youth team of the Chinese club 'Beijing Guoan' Guo Jiayuan died from a head injury sustained during a friendly match in Spain. This was reported by the website 'Glavkom' citing the club 'Beijing Guoan'.
The footballer received a knee to the head during a game with the Spanish team 'Alcobendas' at a training camp in February this year. The player was airlifted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with brain death. The player's family requested to transfer him to Beijing.
On Monday, Guo Jiayuan's condition worsened, and he passed away. He played for the academy of the Chinese Super League club 'Beijing Guoan' and was in the training camp of the youth team of China and the international development program of 'Bayern' from Munich.
On March 20, Guo Jiayuan was to turn 19 years old.
