Since the beginning of August 2023, more than fifteen thousand Ukrainians have been denied entry to Germany, accounting for 19.1% of all refusals at the country's border. Overall, this year the number of refusals stands at 35.6 thousand foreigners, compared to 45 thousand last year.
One of the main reasons for the denial of entry for Ukrainians is the attempt to change their place of residence from the EU country where they received legal protection to Germany. Such an attempt without prior permission may result in denial.
Some Ukrainians also face problems due to the lack of documents necessary for traveling in the Schengen Area.
Among the news is that the longest refugee assistance database from Ukraine in Poland 'Mapuj Pomoc' has been left without funding due to the cessation of foreign aid from the USA.
