One of the founders of Kyiv's 'Plast', soldier of the GUR Kostiantyn Zhuk, died at the front.


The Ukrainian commander died at the front protecting his comrades
The Ukrainian commander Kostiantyn Zhuk, known as Nelson, lost his life in battle while defending Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region. He was a professional military officer and one of the founders of Kyiv's Plast.
Kostiantyn Zhuk actively participated in military actions after the Russian invasion. He commanded several units that included foreign volunteers and took part in the defense of Zmiinyi Island. Additionally, he was the president of the National Association of Motorcyclists of Ukraine and the founder of the Kyiv branch of the national scouting organization of Ukraine 'Plast'.
Kostiantyn Zhuk had a significant impact on the development of military training for youth. He organized the military youth training 'Desant' and facilitated the annual military camp 'Legion'.
Zhuk was noted for his patriotism and constantly emphasized the need for preparation for total war. He was an advocate for the Ukrainization of the army and served in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To many, he became a legendary figure among Ukrainian scouts and soldiers.
Kostiantyn Zhuk died in May 2024, although this became known only recently. It is worth noting that recently, farewell took place for another Ukrainian defender Andrii Kuzmenko, who also died at the front.
